San Diego Daily Dive Reports

Today is a tricky one! A lot of the beach areas seem pretty murky from swell and runoff, though areas like La Jolla and especially spots further out are reporting excellent conditions. I'd say, take a look from the beach first as conditions are pretty variable right now, but there are some excellent conditions on tap for many places today

Water temp: 58-60 F

Runoff from the rain, as well as all the wind chop and swell that was generated by yesterdays storm are going to leave the water murky today. Beautiful on the surface but not so much underneath

Water temp: 58-60 F

Onshore winds are already at it and are supposed to pick up during the day. Rating of "Fair" is probably generous for most places, the cove and the shores are somewhat protected from the winds and swell so if you're itching that's probably the place to go

Best in the morning! Outgoing tide through most of the day will bring the clarity down a bit, and we're expecting a new pulse of swell to start filling in this afternoon. Get on it early if you can

Visibility: 10-20 feet

Water temp: 58-60 F

Swell is easing a bit today and we have beautiful surface conditions! The outgoing tide through the day is churning things up a bit, most areas will see closer to 10' viz but further offshore the water will clear up nicely

Viz: 10-20 feet

Surf: 3-4 feet

Water temp: 59-61 F

Overall good clarity today but with a wide range! Areas like La Jolla are seeing 30-40' viz while other areas like Coronado are seeing closer to 10'. Take a look before you head out, but definitely get wet!

Visibility: 0-10 feet

Surf: 3-5 feet

Water temp: 57-60 F

Water clarity is still recovering from the storm, and a new NW swell filling in today isn't going to do much to help that. Some areas will be seeing 5-10' viz, maybe a bit better at depth but not by much

Still lots of churn and runoff in the water from the storm. Don't recommend getting in for 72 hours after a heavy rain, especially when that rain has come after a long dry spell
